Our Content Policy.

SCHOLAREA does not produce or license past exam questions, handouts, or lecture notes directly from universities. Almost all content on this platform is uploaded by students sharing materials they personally possess — past questions they sat, handouts their lecturers distributed, or notes they wrote themselves.

Some content categories — such as AI-generated flashcards, quiz questions, or study plans — are created dynamically by our AI systems based on topics you provide, and are not "sourced" from any third party.

When you upload a resource to SCHOLAREA, you confirm that you either:

• Personally wrote or created the material, or
• Legitimately possess it (e.g. a past exam paper you sat, or a handout given to you by your lecturer for personal study use), or
• Have explicit permission from the copyright holder to share it.

You are personally responsible for the content you upload. By clicking "Upload" on any resource, you grant SCHOLAREA a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute that content to other students on the platform — but you retain ownership of it.

If you are unsure whether something is allowed, the safest rule is: if you didn't write it and weren't personally given it for study, don't upload it.

Every upload goes through a review process before it becomes visible to other students:

If you are a copyright holder, lecturer, or university representative and believe content on SCHOLAREA infringes your rights or was shared without authorisation, you can request its removal at any time.

We take takedown requests from universities and rights-holders seriously and will never argue with a legitimate request to protect our students and our platform.

We would much rather work with universities than around them. If you are a faculty member, librarian, or administrator at FUD, ABU, UNILAG, or any other institution and want to discuss:

• An official content-sharing agreement
• Verified/branded content on the platform
• Campus-wide student access
• A takedown or content audit

Please email partnerships@scholarea.com. We will respond personally — this is currently a student-led project, and we want to build trust with institutions from day one, not after we are forced to.

Our AI Tutor, flashcard generator, quiz generator, and exam predictor use third-party AI models (including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) to generate study material based on topics, course information, or notes that you provide.

AI-generated content created for your account belongs to you to use for personal study. We do not claim ownership over content you generate using our AI tools.

Violating this Content Policy may result in one or more of the following actions, depending on severity and repetition:

• First violation: Content removed, warning issued, credits earned from that upload reversed.
• Repeated violations: Upload privileges suspended for a period of time.
• Severe or malicious violations (e.g. uploading clearly pirated textbooks at scale, harassment, fraud): Permanent account suspension.

We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion, even without a formal takedown request, if we believe it violates this policy, applicable law, or puts the platform or its students at risk.
